Lekoil marks first cargo lifted from FSO

ABUJA, May 10, 2017 – Lekoil has lifted the first Otakikpo marginal field cargo from the Ailsa Craig FSO unit, the UK-based company said on Wednesday.
Produced on Nigeria’s OML 11, the cargo was lifted by Shell Western Supply and Trading.
The Otakikpo field produces some 5,000 bopd, but with additional and regular liftings on the horizon, Lekoil is targeting an increase in output to 10,000 bopd.
“Selling our first oil marks the commencement of cash flow from Otakikpo,” CEO Lekan Akinyanmi said in comments on the news.
The doubling of production is expected by year-end 2017.
