McDermott wins record renewables EPCIC works

BERLIN, February 17, 2022 – McDermott International has signed an EPCIC contract with TenneT for the BorWin6 windfarm development offshore Germany, the US engineering company announced on Tuesday.

The works include design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of an high-voltage, direct-current offshore converter platform located on the Platform North Sea Cluster 7 in water depths of 40 metres.

 

The contract was one by a consortium including the US engineering entity, Global Energy Interconnection Research Institute Company, and C-EPRI Electric Power Engineering Company.

The BorWin6 windfarm will have a capacity of 980 MW.

The contract is lauded as the largest renewables contract the company has ever signed, although the cost was not disclosed.
