McDermott wins Brazil offshore contract from BRAVA Energia
RIO DE JANEIRO, July 7, 2025 – McDermott has secured a offshore transportation and installation contract from BRAVA Energia for subsea work on two heavy oilfields offshore Brazil, the company said on Monday.
The company termed the contract “sizeable,” meaning its value is between USD 1 million and 50 million.
The contract covers transportation and installation of flexible pipelines, umbilicals and subsea equipment for two new wells in the Papa-Terra field in the Campos Basin and two new wells in the Atlanta field in the Santos Basin. The scope also includes pre-commissioning and onshore base support services.
“This award highlights the vital role of subsea infrastructure in enabling long-term production and asset value for deepwater developments,” McDermott senior vice-president subsea and floating facilities Mahesh Swaminathan said.
“We will leverage our proven integrated delivery model, marine capabilities and expertise in delivering brownfield deepwater solutions to support Brazil and the broader South American offshore market.”
The new wells, operated by BRAVA Energia, are part of a strategy to boost production and extend the lifespan of deepwater infrastructure. McDermott previously delivered the Papa-Terra tension leg wellhead platform, the first dry-tree floating production system offshore Brazil and the first tension leg platform in South America.
BRAVA Energia is Brazil’s most diversified independent oil and gas company. The company operates a range of offshore assets and is focused on optimising production, extending field life and expanding its presence in the South American energy market through innovation and strategic partnerships.
McDermott is a global provider of integrated engineering and construction solutions to the energy industry.
