McDermott wins Malaysia offshore works from PTTEP

KUALA LUMPUR, March 27, 2024 – McDermott has won a contract from a Malaysian PTTEP subsidiary for offshore transportation, installation and commissioning at the Kikeh subsea gas lift project, the company said on Wednesday.

The contract value is between USD 1 million and USD 50 million, the energy engineering and construction player said.

The Kikeh project is situated 120 kilometres offshore Sabah in East Malaysia. McDermott’s work for  PTTEP Sabah Oil will enable gas delivery to a subsea production system tied back to the Kikeh FPSO.

Kikeh is Malaysia’s first and largest deepwater FPSO. The Kikeh field has been producing via the FPSO since 2007.

The field is located in Block K in 1,300 metres of water depths and holds estimated recoverable reserves of 400 million-700 million barrels of oil.
