Murphy awards Barakah contract

KUALA LUMPUR, December 26, 2016 – Barakah Offshore Petroleum was awarded an overhaul, maintenance and upgrade contract from Murphy Sarawak Oil Company last Friday.

 

The USD 4.5-million (MYR 20-million) deal will see the overhaul of the dry tree unit and modification of the production and drilling riser tensioner on Murphy’s Kikeh Spar platform through Barakah’s subsidiary, PBJV. The contract is for two years, with an option for a one-year extension.

In June 2016, Murphy Oil signed another contract with Barakah Offshore Petroleum for welding on a subsea development. Services included workforce recruitment, equipment provision and combustibles. The contract was slated for completion in 2018.
