New find adds to ExxonMobil’s Guyana spree
GEORGETOWN, January 31, 2020 – ExxonMobil has made a fresh discovery at its Stabroek block offshore Guyana, bringing the super-major’s total finds in the licence area to 16.
The Stabroek block is operated by ExxonMobil with a 45% stake, while Hess holds 30% and CNOOC holds the remaining 25%.
Besides its impressive string of oil discoveries, the company also celebrated first oil in December at its Liza development, which is expected to reach full phase-one capacity of 120,000 bopd in the coming months. Oil from the Liza field is produced via the Liza Destiny FPSO, and a second such vessels is expected to be added to the project by 2022.
