New Kuwaiti oil minister named
KUWAIT CITY, December 24, 2018 – Khaled Al Fadhel has been appointed as Kuwait’s new minister of oil, local and international media reported on Monday.
Al Fadhel, who previously worked at the country’s Ministry of Commerce and Kuwait University, is to be sworn in on Tuesday, Reuters reported, citing an Arabic-language report in local daily Al Rai.
Al Fadhel’s predecessor, Bakheet Al Rashidi, resigned days ago.
In other news from Kuwait, the country and neighbour Iraq have selected a consultant to study oil reserves near their shared border in order to aid progress with developing them, Reuters reported separately on Sunday.
