Niger Delta militants threaten Shell

ABUJA, November 16, 2017 – The Supreme Egbesu Tigers of Africa threatened to attack Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) facilities in a statement Wednesday.

The group claimed the company had neglected local content in its operations in the Ekeremor local government area of Bayelsa state and gave SPDC two weeks to include the Amabolou Federated Communities in its work in the region.

“The silence of the group should not be taken for granted as we are determined to make the region uninhabitable for the oil company to operate,” the group said in a statement.

“This is not a threat, we have already alerted SPDC and the security operatives in the Niger Delta region of our intentions and no measure of security measure would undermine our attack if SPDC fails to see reason,” it added.
