KHAIRPUR, September 15, 2015 – Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) and its partner Government Holdings Private have hit natural gas at the Aradin-1 well located on the Khewari Block in the Khairpur district of Sindh.

The well was drilled to a depth of 4,270 metres and made the discovery in the Lower Goru sand formation. No exact estimate was given for the size of the reserve by OGDC although it was reported as “substantial.”

Earlier this year, the company struck oil at its Palli Deep-I well in the Tando Allah Yar district of Sindh. At a depth of 4,050 metres, the discovery was also made in the Lower Goru sand formation.

In July, OGDC made an oil discovery at its Chak Naurang South-1 well in the Lower Sakessar formation, located in District Chakwal, Punjab. Chak Naurang South-1 initially produced 180 barrels of oil per day.
