Oil flows from Kirkuk resume

ERBIL, October 27, 2017 – Oil transport through a Kurdistan Regional Government-operated pipeline has resumed, international media reported Thursday.

 

About 90,000 bopd are flowing from the Avana field to Turkey, a North Oil official told Bloomberg, adding that the company is also working to resume output from the Bai Hassan field.

Earlier in the week, Iraq launched an offensive to take control of a Turkish border crossing area in Fish Khabur that is home to a section of the Kurdistan Crude Export Pipeline. The move followed a call from Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi for Iraqi forces to retake areas under dispute with the Kurdistan Regional Government, including Turkish border crossings.
