
Asyad Shipping buys two LNG carriers for $505 mln
MUSCAT, December 28, 2022 – Asyad Shipping signed an agreement with Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering for the construction of two new-build LNG carriers, the Omani global logistics provider announced on Thursday.
The contract with Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering’s subsidiary Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries is worth approximately USD 505 million.
Under the deal, the vessels are to be delivered in mid-2026.
Oman LNG is expected to operate on the assets.
Asyad Shipping currently operates a fleet of 70 vessels, including very large crude carriers, product tankers, LNG carriers, chemical carriers, LPG tankers, very large ore carriers and dry bulk carriers.
