Oman LNG inks trade deals with Japanese players

MUSCAT, December 28, 2022 – Oman LNG has signed 10-year sales agreements with Japanese energy players JERA, Mitsui & Co. and Itochu Corporation for 2.35 million tonnes per year of LNG, the Omani LNG producer announced on Tuesday.

Under the deals, Oman LNG will supply around 800,000 tonnes of LNG per year to both JERA and Itochu Corporation, while Mitsui & Co. will receive around 750,000 tonnes of LNG per year.

 

The free-on-board contracts are set to begin in 2025.

Cost of the deals were not disclosed.

Itochu Corporation currently has a 20-year contract with Oman LNG for the delivery of 700,000 tonnes per year that will expire in 2025.
