Operations restart at Trinidad’s Trintes field

PORT OF SPAIN, April 24, 2023 – Production has been restored on oil production platforms at the offshore Trintes field following a generator-related incident, local oil and gas operator Trinity Exploration & Production announced on Thursday.
A fire broke out on the company’s Bravo platform on April 10, 2023, and was quickly extinguished. The platform was immediately evacuated along with the associated Delta and Alpha platforms as a precautionary measure.
No hydrocarbons were released into the environment and workers received only minor injuries due the incident.
The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries approved the start up of the Bravo platform on April 17, 2023. Operations at the asset were restarted the following day.
Both Delta and Alpha platforms restarted oil production on April 11, 2023.
Prior to the incident, the Bravo platform produced around 350 bopd and all platforms on the Trintes field produced around 1,010 bopd.
