Subsea Integration Alliance, a partnership between OneSubsea and Subsea 7, will perform the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines and the subsea production systems. Four wells at a depth of 1,790 metres will produce 12.5 mcm (440 mcf) of gas per day, with first deliveries planned for 2020. Work will begin when the final investment decision is made.
“With the full suite of upstream and midstream construction contracts now awarded this completes another milestone to FID. The government is a key stakeholder in the Fortuna project and I am pleased that the local content requirements in these contracts will help to further develop the state of Equatorial Guinea. Fortuna, West Africa’s first deepwater FLNG Project, is expected to FID before the end of 2017,” Nick Cooper, the CEO of Ophir, said in a statement.
The development of Block R has been planned in four phases because it consists of numerous distinct accumulations rather than a single large field. Fortuna is the main reservoir that will be developed in the first phase, together with Viscata, a sizable accumulation that underlays Fortuna. Other reservoirs in the block are Silenus East, Estrella del Mar, Lykos and Tonel. These fields will be tied into the later phases of development.
