PDO awards contract for Oman solar plant
MUSCAT, October 30, 2018 – Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has awarded a contract for the construction of a 100-MW solar power plant to a Japanese-Omani consortium, the company said on Monday.
The contract value was not immediately disclosed.
The winning Marubeni Consortium is led by Japan’s Marubeni Corporation and includes state-owned Oman Gas Company, as well as Bahwan Renewable Energy Company and Modern Channels Services.
PDO is commissioning the plant to supply power to its operations in the interior of Oman. The company will be the wholesale buyer of the project’s output.
