Pertamina shelves Bojonegara LNG terminal

JAKARTA, July 10, 2018 – Indonesia’s Pertamina has cancelled the USD 800-million Bojonegara LNG import terminal project, international media reported on Monday.

The terminal, which was to have been Indonesia’s second land-based such facility, was projected to have a capacity of 4 million tonnes per year and to come on stream in 2019.

“Today we are not going ahead, because it is not yet feasible to continue,” said Nicke Widyawati, Pertamina’s acting CEO, cited by Reuters. “Gas demand has declined so it’s not feasible from a business standpoint.”
