Petrobras output dips

Brazil’s Petrobras produced 2.74 million boepd in March, a figure 3% lower than the preceding month. Oil output was recorded at 2.12 million bopd last month.

Gas production came out at 77.7 mcm (2.7 bcf) per day, down 3% from February. More than half of Petrobas’ hydrocarbons output – 54.7% – came from the prolific pre-salt layer.

While 1.5 million boepd produced in March represented a sequential decline of 2%, the start of production through the FPSO Cidade de Saquarema and the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba, moored in the Lula Central area and the Lapa field, respectively, contributed to a 36% year-on-year increase in pre-salt output.
