Petrofac wins Iraq training contract

BASRA, October 13, 2015 – Petrofac Training Services will join in the operation of Shell’s Majnoon training centre, located at the oilfield in Iraq’s south, for two years with an optional one-year extension.
The oilfield services international released a statement on Tuesday announcing the deal and noting that its Iraq portfolio has risen to more than $1 billion.
The centre has provided training for the Majnoon workforce since its launch in 2013.
The company was previously awarded a contract by Shell for engineering, procurement and construction at the Majnoon development in 2011.
BP, Gazprom and Iraq’s South Oil Company are among Petrofac’s other clients in the country.
