Qatar Petroleum in Japan LNG deals

Qatar Petroleum (QP) announced two new LNG sales deals with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation on Wednesday.

Starting this month, the Qatari NOC will supply 1.2 million tonnes per year of naphtha to Marubeni through its subsidiary Qatar Petroleum for the Sale of Petroleum Products Company.

The five-year agreements mark the largest such deals between QP and Marubeni in three years of doing business in the naphtha trade.

Marubeni’s involvement in Qatar includes the <a href=’https://staging.theenergyyear.com/companies-institutions/qatargas/’>Qatargas 1 LNG project and the first and second Ras Laffan refineries, all in partnership with QP.
