Ramboll lands Qatar job

DOHA, May 18, 2017 – Total and Qatar Petroleum joint venture North Oil Company has awarded Ramboll the pre-FEED study for additional wellhead platforms in the Al Shaheen field, the contractor confirmed on Thursday.
The units, three in total, will be instrumental in raising production from the Qatari field, the operatorship of which will soon transfer from Maersk Oil & Gas to the joint venture company.
“Although this is not the first time Ramboll is involved on Al Shaheen, we are extremely honoured to work on this ambitious field development once again, the managing director of Ramboll’s division for oil and gas in the Middle East, Tommy Amstrup, said in a press release.
The 2,213-square-kilometre field will see Total and Qatar Petroleum take over as developers from July onwards. Their mandate will expire after 25 years.
