Reach Energy hits pay in Kazakhstan
KUALA LUMPUR, December 4, 2018 – The NK-3 well in the North Kariman field onshore Kazakhstan has encountered hydrocarbons, operator Reach Energy announced on Monday.
“This development further highlights the vast exploration upsides that the Emir Oil Concession Block has,” Shahul Hamid bin Mohd Ismail, CEO of Reach Energy, said. “Not only that, we have also discovered that reservoir pressure from the NK-3 well was determined to be relatively high as compared to surrounding wells. This suggests that NK-3 would be a highly productive well once we commence production.”
Current 2P estimates at the Emir Oil Concession Block, where the field is located, stand at 81 million boe, the release added.
