Eni and KPO partners pick Technip for Kazakh work

AKSAI, June 19, 2024 – TKJV LLP, a joint venture between Technip Energies and Kazakh engineering company KPSP, has signed a five-year services agreement with Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) for the development of the Karachaganak field in northwest Kazakhstan, Technip Energies announced on Tuesday.
Karachaganak field is one of the world’s largest gas and condensate fields. It covers an area of over 280 square kilometres and produced 142.7 boe and 12.7 bcm (448.5 bcf) of gas in 2023, according to ownership company KPO, which brings together international oil companies Eni (29.25%), Shell (29.25%), Chevron (18%), Lukoil (13.5%) and KazMunaiGas (10%). Eni and Shell are joint operators of the field.
The agreement covers a range of consulting and engineering services aimed at optimising and expanding the existing facilities and infrastructure. Financial terms were not disclosed.
