Russia’s Lukoil is one of the largest oil and gas companies worldwide. Following 30 years in the oil and gas sector, Lukoil now operates in more than 30 countries, and its products are found in more than 100. The company is vertically integrated and operates across the entire oil and gas value chain.

Lukoil has three main areas of business:

  • Technology: High-viscosity oil production methods and other unconventional reserve techniques, enhanced oil recovery, small-diameter wells, three-string wells, environmentally friendly seismic prospecting, AC electric motors and new waste recycling technology 
  • Upstream: exploration and oil and gas production
  • Downstream: Oil refining, gas processing, petrochemicals production, power generation from non-renewable and renewable energy, retail sales through a network of 5,300 petrol stations and wholesale and trading

The company further sells numerous products:

  • Petroleum products: Fuel, liquified hydrocarbon gas, fuel oil and coke
  • Gas: Natural gas and liquified petroleum gas
  • Petrochemicals: Low-pressure polyethylene, polypropylene, petroleum benzene, stabilised vinyl acetate, technical acrylonitrile, sodium cyanide, petroleum toluene, butylene-butadiene fraction, heavy petroleum resins, liquid hydrocarbons and flammable liquids
  • Aviation: Fuelling and related quality-control services
  • Marine: Marine oils and marine fuel bunkering
  • Oil Trading: Export of oil and petroleum products

Lukoil also has its own brands:

  • Genesis oils: High-quality synthetic oils 
  • Ecto Fuel: Euro 5 fuels
  • Eco Euro Fuel: Euro 5 petrol and diesel

To that end, the company has conducted its business according to the principles of sustainable development since its incorporation. Its approach to sustainability aligns with the UN Global Compact, of which the company has been a member since 2008.
