Rosneft hits oil in Iraq

MOSCOW, May 24, 2018 – Rosneft subsidiary Bashneft has discovered a new oilfield in Iraq, Russia’s oil giant announced on Wednesday.
The find in Block 12 in the southwest of the country has been named Salman, the press release added.
“The exploratory well was successfully drilled to a depth of 4,277 metres,” Rosneft said. “Tests resulted in an inflow of oil, which gives grounds to expect the discovery of commercial reserves.”
