Sadara brings petchem complex on line

RIYADH, August 15, 2017 – Sadara Chemical Company has commissioned the final plant at its Jubail complex, Saudi Aramco announced on Monday.

The plant produces toluene diisocyanate, used for the production of polyurethane foam.


In April, operations began at the complex’s amines plant, which brought its number of working facilities to 26. The amines facility is made up of an ethanolamines plant and an ethyleneamines plant.

The Jubail complex’s integrated facilities can produce more than 3 million tonnes of products per year.

Established in Jubail in 2011, Sadara Chemical Company is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical.

Sadara’s various plants produce elastomers, ethylene amines, propylene glycol, butyl glycol ether and solution polyethylene.
