Saipem wins $510-million Abu Dhabi gas contract

ABU DHABI, June 16, 2021 – Saipem has won a USD 510-million contract to provide EPC works on the world’s largest sour gas facility – the Shah plant in Abu Dhabi.

 

The company announced on Tuesday it had received a letter of award from ADNOC Sour Gas, an ADNOC-Occidental joint venture, to expand and upgrade the Shah gas plant as part of the Optimum Shah Gas Expansion (OSGE) & Gas Gathering project.

Saipem’s works will be aimed at growing the daily gas treatment capacity of the plant by 13%, taking the current production capacity of 1.28 bcf to 1.45 bcf per day – a cumulative increase of 145% of the original design capacity of the plant.
