Sapura Energy announces results

Sapura Energy on Monday posted its results for the first quarter of the financial year ending January 31, 2018. The Malaysian entity announced a profit before tax of RM 104 million (USD 24.3 million).

Company revenue for the mentioned quarter, which ended April 30, came out at RM 1.8 billion (USD 421.1 million). Commenting on the results, President and Group Chief Executive Tan Sri Dato Seri Shahril Shamsuddin pointed to recent contract wins and upcoming development projects as reasons for optimism.

“We have secured new projects in key markets in Southeast Asia, Australia and India. In our Exploration & Production operations, our development of the SK310 B15 field is on-track, with first gas anticipated before year-end,” he said.

In its financial overview, Sapura said its recent awards totalled RM 880 million (USD 205.8 million). Its orderbook stands at RM 17 billion (USD 3.97 billion).
