Siba gasfield in Iraq comes on stream

BASRA, April 25, 2018 – Kuwait Energy has started production at the first gasfield in south Iraq, international media reported on Wednesday.
The Siba field near the city of Basra is currently pumping 708,000 cubic metres (25 mcf) of gas per day, to be increased to 2.83 mcm (100 mcf) per day by the end of the year, Reuters reported.
The news came a day before Iraq is to hold a bidding round for 11 oil and gas exploration blocks.
