SLB OneSubsea wins EPC work from PTTEP for Malaysia deepwater projects
KUALA LUMPUR, October 30, 2025 – SLB OneSubsea has secured two engineering, procurement and construction contracts from PTTEP for the development of deepwater oil and gasfields offshore Malaysia, the US-Norwegian player said on Thursday.
The contracts cover subsea production systems for the Alum, Bemban and Permai gasfields in Block H and the Kikeh oilfield, the country’s first deepwater oil project. The systems will include horizontal subsea trees, umbilicals, control systems and associated services.
The projects are located in water depths of 1,100 to 1,300 metres. Block H began gas production in 2021, while Kikeh has been onstream since 2007.
“We are proud to continue our long-standing relationship with PTTEP, which has seen the delivery of more than 50 systems over the past 20 years,” SLB OneSubsea chief executive officer Mads Hjelmeland said. “By leveraging our experience in complex deepwater environments and adopting a highly collaborative, early engagement process with our clients, we will help PTTEP unlock maximum value from these projects.”
SLB OneSubsea is a joint venture between SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7. It specialises in subsea technologies to optimise oil and gas production, lower emissions and expand sustainable subsea development. The company is headquartered in Oslo and Houston and employs 10,000 people worldwide.
PTTEP is the E&P arm of Thailand’s national oil company and is involved in upstream activities across Asia and the Middle East. In Malaysia, it holds interests in several offshore fields and continues to expand its deepwater operations.
