Sonangol, Total launch JV retail chain

LUANDA, December 28, 2018 – Angolan NOC Sonangol and Total have begun launching a fuel retail network, regional media reported Thursday.
The first Total-branded petrol station opened on December 21, Macau Hub reported. The partners plan to establish a total of 45 service stations in 11 provinces.
“Total is very pleased to establish a new partnership in Angola, following decades of collaboration in upstream with Sonangol. Through the establishment of these joint fuel distribution activities, Total is further strengthening its footprint in the country,” said Momar Nguer, Total’s president of marketing and services, in a company statement.
Sonangol and Total signed a framework agreement for the joint venture in May.
