South Korea refiner plans $1.84-bln plant

SEOUL, February 7, 2018 – GS Caltex will build a KRW 2-trillion (USD 1.84-billion) olefins plant in the city of Yeosu in the southern part of South Korea, international media reported on Wednesday.

 

The facility is projected to produce 700,000 tpy of ethylene and 500,000 tpy of polyethylene, Reuters reported. It is expected to come on stream in 2022.

GS Caltex, the second-largest refiner in South Korea, is co-owned by GS Holdings and Chevron.
