Subsea7 wins contract for Talos Energy’s Sunspear prospect

HOUSTON, April 12, 2024 – Talos Energy has awarded Subsea7 a contract for a subsea tie-back atTalos’s Sunspear development in Green Canyon Block 78 in the Gulf of Mexico, Subsea7 announced on Friday.
The contract’s worth is between USD 50 million-150 million. The tie-back will connect to Talos’s Prince platform, which is located 12 kilometres north of the production well. Subsea7 will install a flowline and related subsea equipment at a depth of 500 metres.
Subsea7’s vice-president for the Gulf of Mexico, Craig Broussard, said, “This award further strengthens our strategic partnership with Talos Energy, enabling early-stage collaboration for faster, more predictable project delivery.”
Talos discovered oil and gas at the Sunspear prospect in 2023. The company seeks to bring it on stream within two years of discovery. Talos CEO Tim Duncan earlier reported he expects production between 8,000-12,000 boepd.
