Technip Energies signs floating wind contract

South Korea
Technip Energies has been chosen by Equinor to provide FEED works for the Firefly offshore floating wind project in South Korea, the Paris-listed energy and technology company announced today.

Scope of the work consists of engineering the floating wind turbine substructure. The structure will be based on the company’s trademarked INO15 technology, which is a three-column semi-submersible floater suited for large turbines.

The proposed 800-MW offshore wind farm is located 70 kilometres from the east coast of South Korea near Ulsan. The facility is expected to come on line in 2027.
