Total, Chevron eye Iraq projects

BERLIN, February 27, 2018 – Chevron is in talks to enter the Majnoon field in Iraq, international media reported on Tuesday.

In a separate report, Reuters cited anonymous sources as saying that Total is considering bidding for a contract to build the 150,000-bpd Nassirya refinery in the country. No financial details for either potential deal were disclosed.

Shell is in the process of exiting Majnoon, Iraq’s third-largest oilfield, following financial disagreements with the country’s government. NOC Basra Oil is currently expected to take over as operator starting in July.
