Total shows no interest in Mahakam: report

JAKARTA, June 6, 2018 – France’s Total has expressed no interest in re-entering Indonesia’s massive Mahakam block after its licence expired at the end of last year, international media reported on Wednesday.

 

Its former partner Inpex has nevertheless signaled a desire for continued participation, Platts reported. NOC Pertamina took the block over from the two on January 1.

Mahakam will require about USD 659 million of investment, Meidawati, Pertamina’s senior vice-president for strategic planning and operation evaluation, said in comments earlier this year. Pertamina plans to work on 57 development wells and 32 workover wells on the block.
