Pampa commits $412 million to Vaca Muerta

NEUQUÉN, June 7, 2018 – Argentinian energy company Pampa Energía has announced it will spend USD 412 million to develop its El Mangrullo and Las Tacanas Norte blocks, local media reported Wednesday.

 

The company plans to drill a total of 27 wells, 11 of which will target the unconventional Vaca Muerta formation. For a price tag of USD 205 million, 19 of of those wells will be drilled in El Mangrullo through 2023, and most will be horizontal. Pampa will also spend an unspecified amount to construct an early production facility for the block.

The company said that exploration at Las Tacanas Norte would entail a USD 207-million investment.

In other news from the area, local gas distribution company Transportadora de Gas del Sur said it would invest USD 300 million through November 2019 to expand pipeline capacity in Vaca Muerta.
