PARIS, July 13, 2026 – TotalEnergies has completed the divestment of all its distributed solar generation assets in seven European countries to Amarenco and AMPYR Distributed Energy, TotalEnergies said on Thursday.

The divestment covers around 170 MW of distributed solar assets, primarily rooftop installations, in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the UK. The transaction is part of TotalEnergies’ strategy to focus its renewable energy investments on large utility-scale solar and wind projects.

Amarenco and AMPYR Distributed Energy will continue operating the assets to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to customers. TotalEnergies said the sale will not affect its renewable growth plans, noting it installed 8 GW of gross renewable capacity over the past 12 months to reach 35 GW at the end of March 2026 and is targeting more than 75 GW by 2030.

“Distributed generation involves the development of projects generally below 3 MW, for which TotalEnergies’ business model is less suited than for large utility-scale power plants that offer economies of scale,” the company said.

In Europe, TotalEnergies is expanding its renewable electricity portfolio through large-scale solar, onshore wind and offshore wind projects, as well as gas-fired generation and energy storage. The company aims to produce more than 100 TWh of net electricity annually by 2030 as part of its integrated power strategy.
