TotalEnergies hits oil offshore Suriname

PARAMARIBO, July 30, 2021 – TotalEnergies and Apache Corporation have made an oil discovery on Block 58 in Suriname, the French super-major said on Thursday.
The duo completed the Sapakara South-1 offshore well on the Campano-Maastrichtian reservoir and found 30 metres net pay of oil. The asset was drilled in water depths of 850 metres.
The find follows previous discoveries at Maka Central, Kwaskwasi, Keskesi and the nearby Sapakara West wells on the same block.
TotalEnergies assumed control of Block 58 in January 2021 with a 50% operating share.
