Suriname bid round

TotalEnergies-QP, Chevron take Suriname blocks

PARAMARIBO, June 21, 2021 – A consortium of TotalEnergies and Qatar’s QP has taken two blocks in Suriname’s shallow-water bid round, while Chevron has taken one block.

NOC Staatsolie announced the winning bids on its 2020/2021 bid round on Friday. “Staatsolie and the successful bidders are now in the process of concluding production sharing contracts for the relevant blocks and will make further announcements once the PSCs are awarded,” the company said.

The TotalEnergies-QP venture took blocks 6 and 8, while Chevron’s local subsidiary took Block 5. A further five blocks failed to attract bids. All blocks are situated near the country’s prolific Block 58, where TotalEnergies has made a series of discoveries.
