TotalEnergies signs 1.5-TWh renewables deal with STMicroelectronics

PARIS, January 29, 2025 – TotalEnergies has signed a power purchase agreement for the supply of 1.5 TWh of renewable electricity to European semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics, the companies announced on Tuesday.
The contract has a duration of 15 years, beginning in January 2025. Electricity will be sourced from two 75-MW wind and solar farms operated by TotalEnergies and will come with structuration services to transform intermittent production into constant baseload power.
The electricity will power STMicroelectronics operational sites in France, which include R&D, design, sales and marketing and large-volume manufacturing. The company is aiming to source 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2027
“This agreement with STMicroelectronics demonstrates our ability to provide long-term and innovative clean firm power solutions tailored to our customers’ needs. TotalEnergies aims to be a preferred partner to support tech industry players towards their decarbonisation efforts,” said Sophie Chevalier, senior vice-president of Flexible Power & Integration at TotalEnergies.
In recent years, TotalEnergies has signed similar long-term supply agreements in the US, Europe and Africa with companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Air Liquide, Merck, Orange and Sasol, among others.
