Trinidad plans development of offshore Galeota Block

PORT OF SPAIN, June 28, 2023 – Trinity Exploration & Production has hired international energy services company Petrofac to perform a concept-screening study for the development of its offshore Galeota Block in Trinidad and Tobago, the UK-based independent announced on Tuesday.
The study is meant as a precursor to conceptual engineering, front end engineering and sanctioning the development.
Leased mobile offshore production units and FPSOs are being are being considered to develop the project.
The study is expected to conclude in September 2023.
The TGAL area of the concession located on the east coast of Trinidad and Tobago was discovered in 2013 with the drilling of the TGAL-1 exploration well in 2013.
The Galeota Block is expected to contain proven and possible reserves of 46.1 million boe.
The play comprises 69% of the company’s proven and possible reserves.
The cost of the study was not disclosed.
