Trinidad signs gas supply agreement for ammonia plants

PORT OF SPAIN, November 1, 2023 – National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC) has negotiated agreements with Proman to supply gas to the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, the local state-owned company announced today.
The contracts were signed with subsidiaries Caribbean Nitrogen Company and Nitrogen Unlimited at NGC’s headquarters in Point Lisas on October 20, 2023.
The companies own two ammonia plants in the country.
“Ammonia production is an important part of Trinidad and Tobago’s downstream sector and I would like to thank the negotiating teams for their dedication and hard work throughout this process,” said Claus Cronberger, executive director of National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago.
Cost of the transactions and amount of gas supplied were not disclosed.
