Vantage bags ONGC contract

HOUSTON, June 28, 2017 – Vantage Drilling International has been awarded a three-year drilling contract by ONGC, the Houston-based offshore contractor said in a press release late on Tuesday.
The agreement will see Vantage mobilise the Platinum Explorer to Indian waters in the fourth quarter of this year. Revenue before tax over the contract period is estimated to come out at around USD 118 million.
“We are delighted to put this drillship back to work in this challenging environment and we look forward to safe and successful operations for our customer, ONGC. Vantage and the Platinum Explorer have previously worked for ONGC for five years and we look forward to providing the same professional service to this client,” CEO Ihab Toma said of the award.
Built in 2010, the Platinum Explorer was designed to operated in some 3,000 metres of water
