France poised to invest in Nigeria

ABUJA, June 28, 2017 – France is expected to invest some EUR 1 billion in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, local media reported on Wednesday.

 

According to various news outlets, the news was conveyed by the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer, during a meeting with the group general manager of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s public affairs unit, Ndu Ughamadu.

The investments will apparently be made and co-ordinated by the French Development Agency, which celebrated the 75th anniversary of its activities in 2016. The ambassador did not elaborate how the funds would be disbursed.
