Vantage wins Qatari offshore drilling works

Vantage Drilling has signed contracts for two of its jackup rigs to begin works in offshore Qatar, the Houston-based company announced in its Q2 results on Thursday.

The Sapphire Driller and Aquamarine Driller rigs will begin works in February 2022 and March 2022, respectively. Both contracts are for three years.

“We look forward to these multi-year programs commencing alongside the Emerald Driller’s campaign in Qatar where we have operated since 2016,” said Ihab Toma, CEO of Vintage Drilling.

The value of the contract and location of the drilling were not disclosed.
