Wood Group bags services deal

ABERDEEN, May 5, 2016 – Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) on Thursday was awarded a three-year contract extension for support services for Shell’s offshore assets in the UK Continental Shelf waters. The scope of the contract also includes engineering work.
The Shell contract will see WGPSN carry out maintenance and construction work on the Alpha, Brent Bravo, Brent Charlie, Brent Delta, Curlew, Gannet, Nelson and Shearwater platforms. The company will also perform engineering modifications on the Brent installations as part of the contract, which is effective immediately and includes two one-year extension options.
“This contract safeguards long-term employment opportunities for our employees on these assets, and builds on Wood Group’s 40-year history working in partnership with Shell in the North Sea,” WGPSN managing director for the UK and Africa James Crawford said in a company statement. The support services contract is the third Shell deal for WGPSN in 2016.
