Wood Group lands Hess Malaysia contract

ABERDEEN, January 31, 2017 – Wood Group has penned a five-year operations and maintenance contract with Hess Corporation for its North Malay Basin development, the Scottish company announced today.
Work includes providing offshore personnel, onshore technical support, training and competency assurance services, engineering, risk-based inspection, integrity management and computerised maintenance management support. The particular development is set to begin production in 2017. The cost of the contract was not disclosed.
The North Malay Basin, discovered in 1979, is located 300 kilometres offshore peninsular Malaysia. Hess Corporation holds a 50% interest along with Petronas Carigali. First production began on the basin in 2013.
Wood Group and Hess Corporation have been working on projects together since 2012.
