Abu Dhabi’s NPCC strikes again with $946-million deal

ABU DHABI, January 5, 2022 – Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) has unveiled a second mega contract this week, picking up a deal from ADNOC worth USD 946 million for EPC works on the Umm Shaif offshore oilfield.

The Abu Dhabi NOC announced the contract in a press release, saying it supports the long-term development of the Umm Shaif field and was awarded via a competitive tender.

Works will include engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning for the maintenance of the field’s capacity of Umm Shaif’s 275,000 bopd, as well as to “increase efficiencies and enhance the field’s long-term potential.”

“This important award for the long-term development of ADNOC’s pioneer offshore Umm Shaif field will maximize efficiencies while maintaining future output and supporting ADNOC’s strategic objective of five million barrels of oil production capacity a day by 2030,” ADNOC upstream executive director Yaser Saeed Almazrouei said.

Wednesday’s announcement comes just two days after it was reported that NPCC had won a contract worth USD 2.23 billion from Saudi Aramco for EPC works on Saudi Arabia’s giant offshore Zuluf oilfield.

NPCC is owned by Abu Dhabi’s National Marine Dredging Company.
