Kosmos Energy awards Gulf of Mexico drilling contract

HOUSTON, January 5, 2022 – Valaris has signed a deal with American E&P company Kosmos Energy for drilling operations on the US Gulf of Mexico, the Houston-based offshore drilling contractor announced on Tuesday.
The Valaris DPS-5 semi-submersible rig will begin drilling on a single well in February 2022 for an estimated duration of 105 days.
The vessel finished its previous contract with Eni in December 2021 in Mexico.
The exact drill site or value of the contract was not disclosed.
