Newrest acquires Compass Group’s Latin American operations

TOULOUSE, March 13, 2025 – Catering and food service provider Newrest has acquired the operations of Europe’s largest foodservice company, Compass Group, in Chile, Colombia and Mexico.

Compass’s Latin American assets represent a EUR 600-million operation and a major strategic acquisition for Newrest. One of Newrest’s primary segments is full-service remote operations for the oil, gas and mining industries. In addition to catering, Newrest’s services include kitchen and restaurant design, support for local staff and hotel management services.

 

Similarly, Compass’s Latin American operations specialise in providing remote-site services, as well as services for the business and industry, healthcare, correctional-facility, and sport and leisure segments.

Newrest will rely on its acquisition, including the current management and expertise, to accelerate its development in Latin America. As of 2024, Newrest had operations in 54 countries, assets under management of EUR 2.51 billion and employed more than 45,000 people.
